The growing tide of oestrogen related problems part 2

1. Nearly 400 different chemicals are licensed to be sprayed on UK crops, often times in combination. Therefore buy as much organic produce as you can afford. Xenoestrogens are stored in fat, so it’s important to buy organic meats, fats and oils and trim away excess fat from meats (but remember organic fats are essential and healthy).

2. Minimise the amount of food you buy and store in plastic wrappers, avoid heating food in plastic and certainly not in a microwave oven. Instead store food in parchment paper, glass jars and cook with stainless steel. (use infared saunas to detox)

3. Reduce how much food you eat out of tin cans; these cans are lined with BPA which leaches into the food.

4. Filter your drinking water with a Britta filter or simply get a water filtration unit plumbed in to your house. Water is so polluted that anything you drink, cook with or wash yourself with exposes you to toxins.

5. Eat plenty of cruciferous vegetables – broccoli, cabbage, kale, Brussels sprouts, chard, kohlrabi, radishes; allium vegetables – onions, leeks, garlic and shallots, and foods rich in glururonic acid – apples, broccoli and grapefruit. These all help detoxify oestrogens through the liver.

6. Increase fibre intake from fruit, vegetables, beans and peas. These help bind “old” oestrogens in the bowel and eliminate them in the stool.

7. Eat plenty of pre-biotic and probiotic food such as leeks, onions, chicory, live yoghurt, and pickled foods such as sauerkraut to support the gut bacteria to inhibit and enzyme called beta glucuronidase that recycles “old” oestrogens.

8. Eat phytoestrogens such as chickpeas, lentils, mung beans, flax seeds, alfalfa sprouts, parsley, fennel and sage. These weak plant oestrogen’s can block oestrogen-binding sites on cells preventing the powerful xenoestrogens from binding, thus reducing the oestrogenic effect in your body.

9. Change your personal care products. Avoid any product that has the word parabens on it. Parabens lower testosterone and raise oestrogen. Look for them in shampoo, toothpaste, creams, moisturisers deodorants and make up. Switch to parabens free products. Buy Neways or J/A/S/O/N. Avoid fake tans and spray on tans these will make your legs fat, detoxify with infared saunas.

10. Use natural cleaning products to reduce exposure to xenoestrogens and other chemicals. Ecover or Neways.

Bob Rakowski has a great saying about oestrogens “whether you make them or whether you take them or whether you have unknowingly been intoxicated by them, whether you are a man or a women you need to get rid of them every day in a healthy way.”
